Recipe for Natural Peanut Butter Granola Bars

Just made some tasty all natural granola peanut butter balls in honour of National Peanut Butter day. I decided to make my tasty treats because I just love snacking on the store bought ones but after reading the labels and noting the extra ingredients of sodium hxametaphosphate and dextrose to name a few, I thought, can’t be that hard.

Here’s what I included:

1 medium banana
2 cups raw oat flakes
1 cup natural peanut butter
1/4 cup raw honey
2 tbsp freshly ground flax seed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp angostoura bitters
1/2 cup rasins
1/2 cup blueberries

I put them all into a  bowl and hand mixed till they were all incorporated well, then placed them in the fridge.

Yummy!!!

Beauty Dextox Solution Lunch – Kimberly Snyder

I’ve officially completed half of my first day on the beauty detox solution and so far so good. A couple of days ago I sent out a tweet stating that purchased and have been reading Kimberly Snyder’s book, The Beauty Detox Solution: Eat Your Way to Radiant Skin, Renewed Energy and the Body You’ve Always Wanted. Well over the weekend I decided that from today I would try my best to stick to her plan.

I prepared myself yesterday by going grocery shopping to purchase some of the ingredients she has listed in her recepies, so at my local supermarket, I purchased some Kale (never heard of it till then), red, green and yellow peppers, squash, avocadoes, lemons and other items.

Now, I think I eat pretty healthy with the ocassional cookie or candy bar in between, but when I saw her Blossoming Beauty’s sample week meals. I realized that I really don’t. I mean I’ve never seen so many veggies in one place besides the supermarket! The interesting thing about Kimberly’s method is that there is a formula such as veggies eaten first then meals and why yoghurt isn’t the greatest.

So last night I prepared myself to start the blossoming beauty meal plan. I started by putting my raw oats to soak for the morning and hand shredded my kale for my Dharma’s Kale Salad, in addition to making the Delish Squash Bisque and Sally’s Salsa for my snack. Sounds yummy and looked even yummier.

This morning and as with every morning on her plan, I drank a cup of hot water with the juice of half a lemon stirred in which tasted good surprisingly. Then ate my celery sticks with the oats next. I did had to warm up the oats to make it taste better though.  At lunch I at my kale salad (on the right in the picture) and squash soup and aside from I think putting too much black pepper it tasted really good. Soon I’ll be eating my salsa as a snack and interestingly enough I’m looking forward to it.
